Lighting System
The objectives of tunnel lighting are:
-To allow traffic to safely enter, pass through and exit the closed section.
-And to do so without obstructing through traffic.
These objectives are achieved by providing adequate tunnel lighting that allows drivers to quickly adjust to the light, identify potential obstacles, and negotiate passage without reducing speed.
These requirements appyly both during the day, when the contrast between the outside and inside is high, and at night, when it is lower, but also vice versa.
